node: interviewing bus riders

For this first part of our charette from this past weekend, we were to go out and talk to people who ride the bus regularly. In order to design a new bus shelter (or shelter bus) we need to know what is currently happening, and what people want to see happen. We need to learn about the people who use it everyday.

At first it was really nerve-wrecking thinking about going up to people we didn't know and asking them questions. But after the first one, it wasn't so bad. Once the conversation started, it was very natural. We also had to try and get a video or audio interview. Unfortunately, my group picked all the people who wanted no such thing- only one woman let us have a picture.

Anna & Starletta (our interviewee)

Starletta was very kind and outgoing- she had lots of stories and opinions to tell. After we spoke to her, we decided to go somewhere besides the depot because there were a lot of IAR students already there. We went to the mall and decided to hang out near the bus shelter and talk to a few people while they were waiting. One man we spoke to wouldn't even let us take a picture, but he had such great opinions about what we were doing. To see the full account of our interviews, check Anna's post.

Shelter:bus continues! More to come!
